I just watched Sébastien Léger's recent Modular Jam video. As usual it felt amazing! I mean check this out.
It seems like he was defusing a bomb but somehow producing great music instead. 😅
My first time listening to his music was when I went to a festival in a Barcelona beach club. It was during an opening set by a spanish woman (I forget her name) for Scenarios label guys and Monkey Safari from Germany. It was there when I found his track and just immediately loved and shazamed it. This was the track:
I felt its multilayer of complexity and funkiness at the same time. Later I explored his other tracks, then immediately became his big fan. I was surprised that he actually has been around since about 2010.
His Lost Miracle label with Roy Rosenfeld is also a gem and I've never missed their monthly mixes on Soundcloud. I think his use of modular synthesizers is one of the things that sets him apart from the rest. Really wish I could listen him live someday.
